From the simple match winner to complex Asian handicaps, player props, and in-play markets — this is your complete reference for every bet type available at global sportsbooks.
The simplest market. Predict which of three outcomes happens at full time: Home Win (1), Draw (X), or Away Win (2). The draw option is what differentiates 1X2 from American moneyline markets.
Best for: Beginners and casual bettors. Low complexity, maximum availability across all sportsbooks and sports.
Asian handicap gives one team a virtual head start to level the playing field. It eliminates the draw, leaving only two outcomes. Bets can be placed on quarter-ball lines (e.g. -0.25, -0.75) which split your stake across two lines.
Team must win by 2+ goals. Win by exactly 1 = Push (stake refunded). Lose or draw = bet loses.
Team wins, draws, or loses by exactly 1 goal = Win. Loses by 2+ goals = Lose.
| Line | Description | Example Result |
|---|---|---|
| -0.5 | Must win by 1+ | Win 1-0 ✓ | Draw 0-0 ✗ |
| -1.0 | Must win by 2+ (or Push) | Win 2-0 ✓ | Win 1-0 Push | Draw ✗ |
| -1.5 | Must win by 2+ | Win 2-0 ✓ | Win 1-0 ✗ |
| -0.25 | Half stake on 0, half on -0.5 | Win ✓ | Draw: half push/half lose |
Bet on whether a statistic (usually total goals, points, or sets) will be over or under a set line. The outcome of the match is irrelevant — only the total matters. Available for goals, corners, cards, rebounds, strikeouts, and more.
Three or more goals scored total. Win if final score is 2-1, 3-0, 2-2, etc.
Fewer than three goals scored. Win if final score is 1-0, 0-0, 1-1, 2-0.
Simply predict whether both teams will score at least one goal each during the match. Win/loss/draw is irrelevant. A Yes bet wins on any scoreline where both teams score (e.g. 1-1, 2-1, 3-2). A No bet wins if either team fails to score (e.g. 1-0, 2-0, 0-0).
Pro tip: BTTS YES is extremely popular in acca combinations. Statistical research on head-to-head records and team form data can give a significant edge in this market.
Predict the exact final score. Highest odds on the board, requires deep statistical modelling to find value.
Predict both the halftime result AND the full-time result. 9 possible outcomes — complex but rewarding.
Covers two of three 1X2 outcomes in one bet (1X, X2, 12). Sacrifices odds for much higher win probability.
Which specific player scores first? Player-level market with high odds and entertainment value.
Does a named player score at any point in the match? More likely than first scorer, lower odds.
Like 1X2 but your stake is refunded on a draw. Removes draw risk. Essentially Asian Handicap 0.
Combine first scorer with correct score (Scorecast) or match result (Wincast). Massive odds.
Choose custom over/under lines different from the standard. E.g. Over 3.5 instead of 2.5 goals.
Will a specific team score next? How many goals will one team score? Team-specific totals.
Will a team concede zero goals? Related to back-line strength and opposition attack data.
Like Asian handicap but includes the draw. Three outcomes: +1, 0, -1. No push possibility.
Which team reaches a goal milestone first (e.g. Race to 2 goals)? Volatile, excitement-driven.
Bet on who will win a competition before it begins — or during it. Examples include league winners, cup winners, top scorer, relegation, and tournament MVP.
Odds update in real time as events unfold. The market pauses on major incidents (goals, red cards) and resumes. Requires speed, concentration, and discipline.
Player proposition bets focus on individual statistics rather than match outcome. Availability and depth vary significantly by sport and bookmaker.
Margins vary dramatically across market types — a bookmaker might offer 4% on 1X2 but 12% on correct score. Paste any market's odds into the calculator to see the overround instantly.
